Now that the movie is only 74 days away, fans become anxious. More and more people are reading the beloved book and becoming involved in this wonderful story. If you haven't had the chance, we recommend that you read the series (Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and Mockingjay). Suzanne Collins did a wonderful job with this series. We definitely look forward to more fantasy novels from you, Suzanne. Just a Few Months Away...![]() As the arrival of the first Hunger Games movie draws near, fans anticipate and plan ahead.
More and more fans are purchasing merchandise (i.e. on Amazon.com) and creating fan art as you see here (to the left). It's a fun way to show how much you love this series. To submit Fan Art, go to the Contact Us page under Extras, and send us your picture. The movie will come to us in four parts: Hunger Games, Catching Fire, Mockingjay Part I, and Mockingjay Part II. It was rumored that Madge was cut out of the movie and that Prim gives Katniss the pin. These rumors cannot be confirmed until the movie (obviously), but you could always check on IMDB (Internet Movie Database) and see the list of cast members for the Hunger Games Movie. Once the movie arrives, there will be a full review in our Blog. And don't worry, there won't be any spoilers; however, the review will be thorough and include a bias-opinion from me, THG Fan. :) I'm not going to lie, I'm really hoping this movie is better than the trailer makes it look [opinionated declaration], but I can't wait to see it. It's just a few months away, everyone. :D Keep your fingers crossed, and prepare for the 74th Annual Hunger Games. Coming to you live March 23 2012. Official Trailer is Here!![]() Click here to see the official trailer right here on THG Fans!
It shows much promise of being as similar to the book as possible. Fans are very pleased with how the movie looks through the trailer. However, some fans seem torn between favoring the new trailer. Some fans rave that the movie will be "similar to how Twilight turned out...when the book was better than the movie". All we can do at this point is wait for the movie to come out and assess this ourselves. Keep your fingers crossed, but keep an open mind when going to see the movie. Closer Than You Think...![]() THG Fans have caught word that a Hunger Games teaser will be released at the VMA's on August 28th 2011. And Now We Wait...![]() Now that movie production has started, all us fans can do is wait.
Many of the actors are exctited to play the roles that they landed. And many of the fans anticipate more news on their beloved story. But for now, all we can do is wait. Scenes from the movie are scheduled to be released through trailers sometime at the end of this year. We all anticipate the arrival of those trailers. Until then...we wait. Lawrence Records Song for THG![]() We hear news that Lawrence had recently recorded a song for the new movie. We believe that it is Rue's Lullaby.
Echo Entertainment says: "T. Bone brought actress Jennifer Lawrence in to sing a haunting song he had written. The day they came in was the first day of shooting for the film but T. Bone had been working on the music for some time. He was one of the nicest, most genuine people we have had the pleasure of working with. I drove him to Best Buy and he talked candidly about making music, about the music industry and where it’s going. I was in total nerd glory. I got back to find out the director of the film had hit my car in the parking lot. I guess if you’re going to have someone hit your car, it might as well be the guy who directed Seabiscuit and Pleasantville, right? If the music is any indication of how the movie is going to turn out, it’s going to be fantastic." Lawrence Discusses Which THG Book was her Favorite![]() Jennifer Lawrence is pumped to be playing Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games, based off the first book of trilogy by Suzanne Collins.
Filming has already started in North Carolina for the first movie, but is that Jennifer’s favorite? Which book is she most excited about filming?! In an interview with PopWrap, Jennifer Lawrence reveals whichof the three books she is most excited to film. “Probably Mockingjay, with Hunger Games a close second,” said Jennifer, “I say that because in Mockingjay I get to be Joan of Arc. Except I live to tell the tale!” Filming has Finally Begun! & Katniss' Father?![]() The wait is over. The cast is near completion, and the movie has finally begun filming in Shelby, NC. Click here to see pictures. Fans are full of excitement and anticipation.
Just so you all know, when filming a movie, producers almost never shoot it in order. So, the first scene to be filmed could be anything. Fans are becoming more and more curious at the thought of beginning the adventure that they have been waiting for for almost a year. However, the movie version of the book is almost never exactly like the book. Some things are changed. There was also an unexpected turn in the cast. In THG, Katniss never gave us a description of her father. We had no way to imagine him without making something up. The producers of THG decided to create a character for Katniss' father. Fans guess that it is for flashbacks and other things that did, in fact, appear in the book. However, the cast list suggests that the actor, Philip Linger (playing Katniss' father), will have an extension to his role (otherwise he would be considered an extra). We all look forward to seeing what the director and all the producers make of the number one story of all time: The Hunger Games. More Cast Members! & Who Will Play Cinna?![]() Currently, the movie is at it's peak of post-production. Some fans say that they wouldn't doubt if they already started filming.
Woody Harrelson won the role of Haymitch Abernathy. The much congratulated actor achieved "[his] goal" in the taking of the role. We expect much out of him, and we're sure he can do it. Another role that was recently achieved was the role of Caesar Flickerman who is played by Stanley Tucci. Tucci is a great actor who has played in countless of praised movies. We suspect Tucci will make this role as real as it was in the book itself. Cross your fingers THG fans! We have a suprise in store for us. Whether it be good or bad, we'll just have to find out. However, now there's the question of who will play Cinna in the movie? Cinna is Katniss' dress stylist, and he plays a major role in the movie. We can only hope that the person chosen to play Cinna is the best choice for the movie. ALSO: Is Madge getting cut? The role of Madge, the girl who gives Katniss the Mackinjay pin, is being considered better out of the movie. What are your takes on this? Should she stay? Or go? And everyone is raving about who should play Cato, Katniss' enemy. Our best bet is to wait and find out. Fingers crossed! Full Cast Almost Completed!![]() It has finally arrived, everyone! THG cast has almost been completed! There's only a few main characters still needed. Their pictures are now loaded in the gallery. This movie has only a few short weeks before they need to start filming.
Fans say that they are focusing too much on the cast, when they should be getting the cameras rolling. However, other fans think that the more time the producers spend on finding the cast, the better the movie will be. With a deadline, though, they do need to start filming pretty soon to stay on schedule. We can only cross our fingers, and hope for the best. Check out the photos of the new crew members by clicking here. Stars Show Interest in Hunger Games![]() Stars, like Miley Cyrus, start to show an interest in The Hunger Games. She tweeted to fans: “Let the games begin :) Starting Hunger Games on my flight to Chi-Town!” Fans are now starting to take into consideration that the book has gotten extensive praise from Celebreties such as 30 Rock's Elizabeth Banks stated, "MOCKINGJAY!!! Clearing three days of my life to devour this book. 3rd in Hunger Games trilogy. Read these!" Fans are becoming excited about their favorite celebs talking about their favorite series. There's also talk that the actors of THG Movie are starting on their journey to read the popular book sereis.
The praise the series is recieving is extraordinary. Catching Fire was named "The best book of 2009" and Mockingjay is among the frontrunners for "The best book of 2010." Of course, to the fans the series will always be number one. We look to the future of Collins' writing. Some fans are hopeful for more books from her. We can't wait to see what she has in store for us next. | WelcomeThis is a site for all THG fans to explore and step into the making of the movie. Feel free to look around at all of our different pages. Thank you for taking the time to check out our site! May the odds be ever in your favor.
